New Zealand Natural were approached by Smart Move New Zealand in 2008 with a proposal for branded Smart Cars to use as mobile billboards, promoting awareness of our Ice Cream Parlour network in New Zealand. Their unique idea of leasing branded cars direct to our franchisees for their use throughout a promotion, gained immediate favour giving us outstanding awareness of the offer we were running at the time. We were also able to spread the cost over several sites, making the cost per store very competitive vs traditional on-site media. One franchisee's reaction is below:
"The success of the promotion at the Palms has been fantastic and I am not sure if it is because of the actual give away or is it because of the publicity the car has generated. From the time the car was in place we have been 'running'!
People from all ages - the elderly stop and admire the car, the very young try and touch the kiwi, 'lick' the ice cream image, run around it playing games and of course the teens come and spend.

We operate in a highly competitive environment. There are many companies vying for consumer recognition.
We have been using a number of Smartlease cars Nationwide to assist in our marketing mix.
Measurability is key to us, as is the ability to capture consumer contact details. Sothys ran a text competition on the cars with 500 trial
packs to be won. Over the three month campaign we received over 3700 text entries all of which have been added to our customer database.
The product being promoted has sold three times over
forecasted figures. Needless to say, we are happy with the Smartmove product and have prebooked cars for our next product push.
